Pisco Sour: Now in New Delhi … Awesome!!!

I just got the news that Pisco Sour was introduced in India as part of a campaign from the Peruvian government to promote this beverage around the world. Now every Peruvian Embassy party has Pisco sour instead of Cocktails on the invitation.

This ceremony was held in one of the most amazing hotels in New Delhi: The Oberoi Hotel and Resort considered among the 100 Top Hotels in the World. If you are in the mood to explore one of the older cities in the World and spoil yourself consider visiting New Delhi and try a Pisco Sour.

Let me know what you think?.. Why not?

Futbol: The Passion of the Crowds

It’s Futbol in Latin America & Spain but in the US they call it Soccer. Others from England, Africa & France know it as Football. Futebol is the name found in Brazil and is used by all speakers of Portuguese. In Italy say Calcio but don’t forget its Fussball in Germany & Austria. Around the world I really believe the same feeling is shared by all. They love this game.

Currently, Peruvians are excited about watching Universitario, Alianza Lima and Aurich playing in the Libertadores Cup. It’s shocking I know, but the whole country stops during the game. The streets empty, people get together and everybody is ready to cheer Gooool!!!.

Last weekend, when the whole world celebrated Valentine's Day Puma surprised fans everywhere with a smart commercial connecting soccer with love. “The Hardchorus” was filmed at the Beehive Pub in Tottenham with real fans singing Savage Garden’s “Truly Madly Deeply”. I’m sure many soccer fans were saved on this day from their honeys when this video went viral.

Enjoy watching how these mates dedicate their performance to the women they left at home and don’t forget Valentine’s Day can be any day so you can still send this song to your love one.

Peru in Vancouver 2010... Awesome!

Olympics Winter Games are off and running but this year is special for Peruvians. Three of our countries athletes are competing for the first time in the history of Peru. In the amazing Vancouver, Roberto Carcelen (39) and the siblings Manfred (16)and Ornelia (18)Oettl Reyes are doing their best and I am proud of them.

Roberto who began training 5 years age was how exciting it was to listen to thousands of people cheering for him, after his 15K mile journey, during the Cross Country race in Whistler. He is the founder of Incarunners a different way to visit Peru by running in the Andes along the Inca Trail. Anyone interested?... another excuse to visit Peru.

Manfred, who I think is one of the youngest athletes in Vancouver and his sister, grew up in Germany but continue with their Peruvian heritage. They are competing in Alpine Skiing where I expected them to win gold. Ok, just kidding. Let’s cheer for them anyway.

The Olympics is a great place to bring people together from around the world. I saw my first snow this winner and I can’t imagine slipping down the slope on the snow.

Beyonce dinning out in Lima

Peruvians are so excited that Beyonce is visiting. This American R&B singer amazed me when she joined the cause to help Haiti relief. She is the Official Face for the ‘Fashion For Haiti’ T-shirt and sings "Halo" in Hope For Haiti Now on CD.

However the biggest surprise was to find out that she ate dinner in one of my favorites restaurants: Huaca Pucllana. It's perfect at night. I'm sure she loved the food, the service and a Pisco Sour of course.

Don't forget, if you are around Miraflores and in the mood for a fancy, special dinner head here. Lima's nightlife is right around the corner. So enjoy!

Now I'm in the mood for a Pisco Sour, maybe two...
